Course aim:
This course will help you to prepare for the world of work.
Course description:
The course is for London residents aiming to progress in work or looking for work. You need to be aged 19+ and be available to undertake a Level 2 Award course with 36 hours tutor led study. During this course you will learn about and develop a range of skills needed for work. As you build a portfolio of evidence for the level 2 qualification, you will be able to improve your confidence and communication skills; helping you to prepare for employment or for a change in employment.
By the end of the course I will be able to:
1. Appreciate how mindset can improve employability
2. Develop and enhance skills required for the working environment
3. Increase confidence for employment and motivation
4. Improve communication skills and personal effectiveness
How will I learn?

We expect you to attend your classroom sessions and make time to do any required learning activities on your own.

The WEA tutor will use a range of teaching and learning activities and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning. Your tutor will use tasks to see how you are learning, which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects, discussion, written or practical work. Your tutor will give you feedback on your learning and progress.

WEA Canvas online learning area

Whether your course is face to face or online, the WEA uses its online learning area, called Canvas, to support your learning. This includes using Canvas to think about and record your progress and to give your tutor and the WEA feedback on your course. If your course is online, you will join a virtual classroom using a weblink: the WEA uses a video-conferencing tool called Zoom.
