You need to have basic IT skills eg using a mouse and keyboard. It would be useful to have a notebook and pen to make your own notes.

Build your confidence using IT with this Step into Digital course.
Course description:
This course will help you to develop your digital skills using a range of different applications and get to grips with how these can be used to assist you in doing administrative tasks independently. You will develop essential workplace skills including safe ways to browse the internet, use email and other applications online that will also help you to grow confidence in using these.
By the end of the course I will be able to:
1. Understand how to save work onto the hard drive, desktop, download folder.
2. Independently enter text, insert an image and table, format and save the document.
3. Understand the difference between hardware and software and independently use keys, touch screens, buttons etc to do simple actions.
4. Learn the skills to navigate the internet and bookmark selected pages, learn about online online security and staying safe online.
5. Learn skills to compose and send a message via email and independently reply to and forward email messages and also understand email etiquette.
How will I learn?

We expect you to attend your classroom sessions and make time to do any required learning activities on your own.

The WEA tutor will use a range of teaching and learning activities and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning. Your tutor will use tasks to see how you are learning, which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects, discussion, written or practical work. Your tutor will give you feedback on your learning and progress.
