Course aim:
The aim of the course is about enjoying learning in a welcoming atmosphere. Learning to research and write through a device, ie mobile phone, computer, or a tablet. Having confidence in using these devices.
Course description:
To develop and maintain the skills needed to live a full and enquiring life in Britain today. To gain confidence and interact with mobile phone, computer or a tablet. The course is about enjoying learning in a welcoming atmosphere, promoting self esteem. To gain confidence to work independently with no pressure in a small class.
By the end of the course I will be able to:
1. Identify three ways to stay safe using electronic commuication.
2. Find information about local council department and write a letter of complaint or a letter of praise or a letter making suggestion.
3. Prepare a five minute presentation about a book or a film that has been important to you, and if you feel able to share it with the class.
4. Choose a meal that can be made at home or bought readymade(eg rice n peas) and compare the portion cost if the food were sourced from a food bank, as ingredients from a shop, or a ready meal from a shop or takeaway.
5. Describe five differences between local and national government.
How will I learn?

We expect you to attend your classroom sessions and make time to do any required learning activities on your own.

The WEA tutor will use a range of teaching and learning activities and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning. Your tutor will use tasks to see how you are learning, which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects, discussion, written or practical work. Your tutor will give you feedback on your learning and progress.
