Mentoring in Communities

Ref: C3847105

Our students work with us because they find our approach enables them to gain a more flexible understanding of their problems and of their solutions, which they have not found with other systems and agencies. Our system works on the simple idea that strategies must be include an element of flexibility to accommodate changes and personal differences. Therefore we have included exercises which emphasize an open-minded approach to all individuals who may wish to take part in our courses, whatever the nature of their problems. We feel that using this approach in our communities enhances our availability as well as improving personal character traits.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Discuss and understand practical use of simple strategies in our communities
  • Produce simple on-line approaches to local agencies where our group-support might be useful to those involved in such agencies
  • Share information gained by the above methods and explain where its practical use has produced benefits to others
  • Mentor others whether in groups or individually
  • See where methods used by other agencies such as AA and NA might now be available by using the new open-minded approach
