We will continue to develop creative and imaginative writing, considering sense of place - the place and time of a piece of writing, viewpoint - from the perspective of the narrator. We will develop characters through their characterization. We will discuss poetry and other forms of writing.
Course aim
Developing the basics of Creative and Imaginative writing. For anyone who wishes to begin writing imaginatively or to enhance their writing skills.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This course is for beginners and improvers
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Continue to develop writing through sense of place, point of view, characterization, show don't tell. Become a people watcher.
- Explore writing poetry in several forms, including concrete poetry.
- Discuss poem examples and their content. Study charaterization in a short story example
- Write Beginning, Middles and Endings - believable endings
- Keep it simple avoiding verbosity and the importance of editing including Flash Fiction.

You will need an internet connection. Use of a laptop, mobile phone or tablet.
