Do you lack confidence in your communication skills at work? Could be better? It isn't just about talking, it's listening, evaluating and responding appropriately, and that's just the verbal part! We will explore the different ways to receive and respond to information in your work place, your studies and everyday life. Practise using the written word and speech appropriately – selecting the right tone for the situation. Join this supportive group, take some time to learn tips about communicating more effectively so you are prepared, professional and more confident when dealing with phone calls at work.

Course aim

To help you build effective communication skills: looking at the ways in you receive and respond to information in your work place, your studies and everyday life.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Recognise barriers to effective communication.
  • Understand and list the steps needed for effective communication.
  • Develop strategies to improve your communication skills in a variety of situations.
  • Recognise the role non-verbal communication plays in interactions with others.
  • Recognise how asking the right questions can aid communication.
