This course is for those new to gardening, and will explore a wide range of seasonal tasks in the Spring Garden. This will include spring seed sowing, what to prune in spring, growing vegetables, fruit and herbs, prolonging colour and interest, pests and diseases, identifying weeds, growing cut flowers, and managing rockeries. Each week, we will also have a presentation on a plant of the week, and identify and discuss some seasonal plants.
Course aim
To identify and discuss tasks in a Beginner's Garden that are appropriate to Spring. To provide a forum for novice gardeners to discuss a range of garden-related topics.

By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Plan and carry out seasonal tasks in the garden
- Propagate a range of plants from seed
- Maintain a colourful and interesting garden through the growing season
- Identify and manage a range of pests and diseases
- Understand which vegetables, fruit and herbs will do well in the conditions available
What else do I need to know?
You do not need to bring anything with you. Course materials will be provided in Canvas each week, and reading through these before the session will be helpful.
