This course provides basic knowledge of the Russian language, with an emphasis on colloquial Russian. We will practice speaking, listening, reading and writing in Russian. Topics to include are Friends and family, meeting new people, shopping, work and leisure.

Learning the basics of the Russian language with an emphasis on colloquial Russian, including speaking, listening, reading and writing.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Recognise the characters of the Cyrillic alphabet.
  • Use Russian vocabulary at beginners level.
  • Practice Russian grammar at beginners level.
  • Discuss some simple everyday topics in Russian.
