This course suits anyone who has been out of work for an extended period of time, for example raising children or a health issue. The course is centred around addressing issues that may cause students to doubt their abilities in the workplace. We will build confidence, look at practical methods to address problems and catch up with what has changed in the world of work. Upon completion of this course students should be ready to start job searching, but there is the option to progress into a CV and Interview skills workshop if desired.
Course aim
This course is designed to help adults return to work after a lengthy career gap.

- This course is for beginners
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- List 5 reasons to return to work
- Identify one obstacle that stops you from returning to work
- Set a SMART plan to address that obstacle
- Select an industry, profession, or role, and research the entry requirements and skill set required for employment in that field
- Explain the points based recruitment method
What else do I need to know?
- A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you - It would be helpful if you had access to the internet (Mobile phone, tablet or computer at home or through a library etc.)
