Imagination is a powerful tool for mental wellbeing. Not only are creativity and curiosity are effective motivators but sculpting original ideas can reward us with a sense of control. The natural world can also boost positivity, allowing us to feel grounded and calm. In this one-session course, students will be given pre-session prompts relating to outdoor observations (ie obtaining an item from your local park). You will then be encouraged to use these resources to practice descriptive writing and storytelling techniques, reflecting on the emotional and psychological benefits nature can bring. This course includes exercises, lecture, discussion, and a chance for students to share their stories and ideas.
