Participants will be introduced a range of different therapies which are suitable for personal use in the home setting. Health and personal safety will be covered before participants try some of the therapies on themselves.
Course aim
This sessions introduces participants to what Holistic Therapies are and how they can be used to enhance personal wellbeing.

By the end of the course I should be able to:
- You will understand what the term Holistic means in relation to therapies
- You will a learn a variety of techniques and knowledge that will help you carry out a self help treatment
- You will gain an understanding of what is meant by a safe and effective treatment
- You will be able to Assess which therapies would be most suitable for you to use to improve personal wellbeing
- You will Know where to access links and further reading on the therapies discussed.
How will I be taught?
- The WEA’s digital learning platform, Canvas will be used to provide resources or to support lessons, enable assessment, provide learner feedback and for other activities for individuals away from the course. - The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
What kind of feedback can I expect?
- A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
- Activities will include a tutor presentation, practical activities and discussion. Support and Feedback will be given throughout

- You will need a personal email address to join the WEA’s digital learning platform, Canvas so that you can receive resources, record your progress and achievement and to work with others and share ideas.
