Here at the WEA we are offering and fantastic opportunity to gain accredited qualifications to help you to build a portfolio of certificates to help you progress into new work roles, enhance existing ones or learn for your own personal development. On the pathway you have the option to complete the following courses: Using Zoom for Learning and Working online, Introduction to Mentoring, L2 Award in Mentoring, L1 Award in Stress Awareness, L1 Award in Mental Health, Working in the Sector – next steps National Careers Service advice and guidance. Our courses are free to anyone on a means tested benefit or earning less than £18,525 per year. All our courses are currently delivered online using zoom and online learning platform, Canvas.
Course aim
This session will provide you with information about our accredited mentoring courses. You will be asked to complete an assessment task that will help us to see which course is right for you.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?

By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Recognise the range of accredited mentoring skills courses available
- Identify the skills I have, need and will develop during a course
- Agree whether I will be able to/ am ready to undertake an accredited course
- Prepare for enrolment or referral to other learning opportunities
How will I be taught?
- During the initial assessment you will be asked to complete tasks and will have a verbal conversation with a member of staff to discuss the course
What kind of feedback can I expect?
- Staff at the initial assessment will provide you with verbal feedback to help determine your next steps.
What else do I need to know?
- You will need a personal email address to join the WEA’s digital learning platform, Canvas so that you can receive resources, record your progress and achievement and to work with others and share ideas.
