This workshop will help people to develop the skills needed to cope with the changes and challenges in the workplace. People will identify future career opportunities, write a CV and improve their interview techniques. They will identify the support mechanisms available both in and outside the workplace.

Course aim

This is a taster workshop that helps people to develop the skills to cope with changes and challenges in the workplace.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is open to Unison members only

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Explore own work- life balance
  • Discuss challenges faced at work
  • Write a CV
  • Prepare for an interview
  • Identify support available through times of change

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning

What else do I need to know?

  • All materials will be provided

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required
