A further relaxed study of artists and movements in western art history, including El Greco, Rembrandt, the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and Matisse.
Course aim
An ongoing informal voyage through art history with the WEA Tenterden Branch with a view to enriching students' understanding and enjoyment of art.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- No skills or experience needed
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Take part in discussions about the art works and respond appropriately to others.
- Describe 2 events or factors that may have influenced the artist.
- Look at a range of information to help understand and explain the artworks.
- Describe how and why artists use line, space, colour, form and texture.
How will I be taught?
- The WEA’s digital learning platform, Canvas will be used to provide resources or to support lessons, enable assessment, provide learner feedback and for other activities for individuals away from the course. What kind of feedback can I expect?
- A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
