We will explore the evolution of art and architecture throughout Europe and the Near East during the period AD 1400 – 1520. Important themes will include developments in architecture in Italy, the sculpture of Donatello and Brunelleschi, Florentine and Sienese Painting, and the Northern Renaissance.

Introduce students to European art and architecture from AD 1400 – 1520.

By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Recognize a series of artistic styles and forms pertaining to the Renaissance.
- Understand the reasons for changing influences in Renaissance art and architecture.
- Demonstrate a knowledge of key architectural sites and historic artworks.
How will I be taught?
