Start the New Year with our Monday Morning 'Yoga For All' Online Yoga Course - a positive start to the week! This course will help you to enjoy the practice of yoga in the comfort of your own home whilst staying connected to your tutor and other students. This course will encourage you to listen to your own body and adapt all practices to suit your own needs. We will focus on asanas that promote a healthy back, uplifting exercises that connect us to the Earth and Sky and learning to make breathing easier by releasing tension in the chest and diaphragm. We will focus on nurturing our mental and emotional well being through Heart Meditations and a range of Deep Relaxation practices. Everyone is welcome!
Course aim
This course aims to promote physical, mental and emotional well being with a holistic approach to the practice of yoga. Students will focus on adapting yoga postures to suit their own needs, breathing practices to calm the mind and Deep Relaxation.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?

- This course is for a group of around 15 students studying in a live video-learning platform conference and an online digital learning environment platform from the comfort of your own home.
- This is a live lecture delivered by a subject specialist in an online webinar video learning platform. You will need to be able to access the internet on a device with speakers or earphones. - This course is suitable for beginners and improvers
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Identify and practice exercises and postures that promote a healthy back - building strength and flexibility.
- Boost energy levels and ease stiffness through practices that mobilise the joints and stretches that focus on our connection to the Earth and Sky.
- Learn to breathe with ease through a focus on The Breathe - Easy Pose.
- Still the mind and emotions through Meditation focused on the Heart.
- Develop your ability to Deeply Relax through a variety of relaxation techniques.
How will I be taught?
- The WEA’s digital learning platform, Canvas will be used to provide resources or to support lessons, enable assessment, provide learner feedback and for other activities for individuals away from the course. - You may be asked to undertake additional work in your own time to support your learning
What kind of feedback can I expect?
- Your tutor will provide written, text and audio feedback recorded in WEA Canvas, WEA’s digital learning platform.
- A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
- You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
What else do I need to know?
- What you need: You will need an internet connection, speakers, a microphone and a webcam so that you can use our video learning platform, Zoom. If you’d like to understand more Zoom please visit: http://bit.ly/ZoomSpec
- You will also need access to the internet outside of your sessions. You could do this using a smart phone, tablet, laptop or a desktop computer (at home or through a library etc.).
- You will need a personal email address to join the WEA’s digital learning platform, Canvas so that you can receive resources, record your progress and achievement and to work with others and share ideas. - A Yoga Mat and also a block if you have one. Also have 2 blankets or throws and some cushions/ pillows too!
