The opportunity to understand what confidence is and how to apply it to our lives when we make contact with others. This course will focus on building confidence and resilience with a particular focus on how we develop and sustain meaningful and healthy relationships with those around us. The course will incorporate ideas and themes from mindfulness and resilience. It will give you practical tips about making new connections and examining the relationships and connections that we already have to make our lives more fulfilling.

Course aim

The opportunity to look at what confidence is. When we connect with others how do we make connections? How do we build and sustain healthy and mutually beneficial relationships.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Help people to understand the confidence cycle and how we use it in connections
  • Helping people to personalize confidence for them and their connections
  • create a list of what confidence means and why it is necessary for connections
  • Creative methods of connecting with others

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor

What else do I need to know?

  • You will also need access to the internet outside of your sessions. You could do this using a smart phone, tablet, laptop or a desktop computer (at home or through a library etc.).
  • Nothing else is needed
