ART HISTORY - HERSTORY - women in art, representation and practice How have women traditionally been represented in art? How does this representation affect us today? Who were the women artists in history? Why do we know so little about them? How has the historical treatment of women in art directed the practice of women artists today? Building on the 2019 local exhibitions The Enchanted Interior (Laing Art Gallery) and Judy Chicago retrospective (Baltic), this series of workshops aims to explore the place of women in art as both subject and practitioner. This course is for residents of the North of Tyne Combined Authority - Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland
