Learn simple ways to draw beautiful flowers, leaves and seed heads, (some realistic and some imaginary), and practice embellishing them with watercolour, coloured pencils and more! Ideal for beginners, or those who want to be inspired by new art techniques. We will practice a variety of doodle patterns and try out different ideas for attractive backgrounds. We will use them to decorate cards, gift tags or frame them to display on your walls - yes they will be that good! This is a very popular art form at the moment and has the added benefit of being stress-free. Join this friendly, creative course, no experience necessary just have a go and have fun.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

- This course is for a group of around 15 students studying in a live video-learning platform conference and an online digital learning environment platform from the comfort of your own home.

By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Draw three flower doodles and three other doodle designs such as seed heads, garlands or borders.
- Choose and use a suitable medium to add colour to designs.
- Use a floral design to decorate a card, gift tag or picture.
- Use a shading technique to add dimension to a pattern.
How will I be taught?
- The WEA’s digital learning platform, Canvas will be used to provide resources or to support lessons, enable assessment, provide learner feedback and for other activities for individuals away from the course.
