Tai Chi is designed for learners who want to learn how to perform gentle movements to increase mobility and promote well-being - Tai Chi helps to create a beautiful flow of energy both in and around the body. Relaxation and meditation techniques complete this mind - body and spirit holistic practice to bring about a sense of peace, calmness and serenity.
Course aim
Tai Chi can be performed seated or standing - using gentle movements to create a beautiful flow of energy both in and around the body. Enhancing health and well-being and promoting a sense of relaxation and peacefulness.

By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Practice mobility stretches to warm up my body.
- Perform Tai Chi movements.
- Practice breathing techniques to promote good health.
- Relax and join in the visualisation and meditation techniques.
How will I be taught?
- The WEA’s digital learning platform, Canvas will be used to provide resources or to support lessons, enable assessment, provide learner feedback and for other activities for individuals away from the course. - The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

- You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor

- Please have a comfortable and supportive chair available. We will have a comfort break so you can make a beverage, you may wish to have a glass / bottle of water with you.

- No pre reading is required but research on the subject on the internet or in the library may be helpful
