How do you manage stress? We really need to off-load our build-up of stress before it causes detrimental health problems, this workshop teaches us how to 'tune in' to our mind and body - by using breathing techniques to relax and connect with the body and by using relaxation techniques with visualisation we can discover what it feels like to feel truly relaxed, peaceful and calm.

Course aim

This workshop works with both the physical and mental body to bring about a sense of well being - helping to release potentially harmful stress levels, and leaving us feeling calm and serene.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This is a live lecture delivered by a subject specialist in an online webinar video learning platform. You will need to be able to access the internet on a device with speakers or earphones.   • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Understand how stress can negatively affect the body and how to release tension and stress from both the mind and the body.
  • Use relaxation techniques to help me relax.
  • Perform visualisation and meditation to help with stress relief.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor

What else do I need to know?
