We will work with a wide variety of postures: standing, seated, lying and inverted. We will also practice the 7-Way Stretch and Salute to the Sun every week. Each session will finish with a mindfulness breathing meditation and a guided relaxation. The role of the breath throughout will be key.
Course aim
This course is for those with experience of yoga as well as absolute beginners. The session will be adapted to the needs of the individual.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?

- This course is for a group of around 15 students studying in a live video-learning platform conference and an online digital learning environment platform from the comfort of your own home.

By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Independently practice a range of postures: standing, seated, lying and inverted.
- Independently practice 7-Way Stretch No. 4.
- Independently practice Salute to the Sun.
- Understand the benefits of mindfulness breathing meditation.
- Independently practice the guided relaxation.
How will I be taught?
- The WEA’s digital learning platform, Canvas will be used to provide resources or to support lessons, enable assessment, provide learner feedback and for other activities for individuals away from the course. - The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

- A yoga mat and block or firm cushion are required along with space to practice yoga.
