Students will look at money management techniques including ways to make savings and how to stick to a budget, how to manage and avoid debt and how to compare credit offers
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This course is for beginners
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- describe the difference between income and outgoings
- identify priority and non-priority spending
- Identify at least 2 different types of borrowing
- set a SMART saving goal
- Define the term ‘credit score’
How will I be taught?
- The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
What kind of feedback can I expect?
- A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
- You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
What else do I need to know?
- A notebook and pen would be useful to make notes of the session
