This course is to support you in preparation to work in the health and social care sector. It will allow you to develop an awareness of the sector as a whole, as well as learning the values and principles of adult and social care. Whilst on the course you will explore different jobs and qualifications associated with working in caring professions and developing both your personal and social skills.

The course aims to teach you the basic skills and entry level knowledge required in health and social care.

By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Gain an understanding of the different job roles and qualifications needed for working in the health and social care sector.
- Recognize skills and qualities needed for health and social care work.
- Understand the principles and values of working in health and social care.
- This course will help you gain confidence in not only potential work skills but life skills also.
- Understand health and social care specific vocabulary.
How will I be taught?
- The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
What kind of feedback can I expect?
- A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
- You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
