By the end of this course, you will have made a baby quilt using different techniques such as, Italian smocking and honeycomb smocking. Along the way you will also be making different samples using these techniques to finalise the design you like best for completion of the baby quilt.

By the end of this course, students will have made a baby quilt using different sewing techniques.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?

By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Have gained the knowledge to design and make a full baby quilt.
- Make a graph pattern for the different types of smocking.
- Use numeracy skills to take measurements for different graph patterns.
- Understand how to create Italian and honeycomb smocking.
- Independently make samples using learnt techniques.
How will I be taught?
- The WEA’s digital learning platform, Canvas will be used to provide resources or to support lessons, enable assessment, provide learner feedback and for other activities for individuals away from the course. - The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
