The course consists of an introduction to the basic vocabulary and terminology related to computers and Microsoft packages like Word. Students will also use a range of different computer software and programs. An attempt will be made to support students’ individual needs.
Course aim
The aim of the course is to increase students knowledge of basic computer skills and also build up their confidence in using a computer.

By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Understand and use the basic vocabulary and terminology related to computers.
- Understand how to use Microsoft Word to create, save and format documents.
- Independently search the internet for information.
- Demonstrate new found skills in computer technology and also increased confidence in using these skills in both work and life.
How will I be taught?
- The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
What kind of feedback can I expect?
- A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
- You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
