Traveller's Tales - Montserrat (Lecture Hour)

Ref: C2344603

This Traveller's Tale focusses on the beautiful yet volatile island of Montserrat in the Caribbean. This British Overseas Territory is probably most famous for its devastating volcanic eruption in the 1990's which destroyed the capital, and forced the evacuation of the majority of the island's population, but there is more to the Emerald Isle than meets the eye. You will learn about the interesting history of the island, the volcanic setting which has dominated modern life, and what it's like to live and work on the island, through the stories and experiences of the presenter. You'll also have the chance to tell traveller's tales of your own.
