Yoga for Complete Beginners

Ref: C2344076

This course will introduce the different elements of a typical Hatha yoga class including: preparation/warm up; yoga poses (asana) and physical movement; basic breathing practices; simple concentration techniques and guided relaxation. Students will learn about the 'what', the 'how', and the 'why' of yoga practice. This is a practical course enabling participants to experience yoga practices that aim to improve physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. Yoga has many benefits. Physically it can help us release tension; increase the range of movement in our joints; strengthen and lengthen muscles; and improve balance. Practised mindfully, it may help us feel calmer and more focussed, responding to life with greater clarity. Emotionally it may help us feel more relaxed and reduce levels of anxiety and stress.
