In this course we will work with a range of activities in the sessions that can be used on a day to day basis to bring mindfulness into daily living. This will include various meditation techniques, activities that can be embraced into everyday life, mindfulness yoga movements and how the whole concept of mindfulness can enrich ones life.

Course aim

This course will look at the meaning of Mindfulness and how this can be incorporated into everyday life, it will be a basic practical, down to earth course accessible for everyone.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • -practice mindfulness breathing meditation;
  • -practice the body scan;
  • -practice mindfulness yoga movements;
  • -practice two to three mindfulness techniques at home;
  • -be familiar with the meaning of mindfulness.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
  • You will be expected to carry out a range of activities in your own time

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning

What else do I need to know?
