Course aim
To recognise positive qualities, attitudes and behaviours for learning and work and to understand own developmental needs
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- No skills or experience needed
- This course is for anyone who is lacking in confidence about their abilities and the skills and qualities they have to offer in the workplace. The course will help you to begin to realise and unlock your potential.
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Give examples of positive and appropriate behaviour for learning and work
- State the importance of positive qualities and attitudes for learning and work
- Identify personal strengths and weaknesses
- Produce an action plan to address personal weaknesses
- Review personal development action plan
How will I be taught?
- The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
What kind of feedback can I expect?
- A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
- You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
- You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
What else do I need to know?
- Nothing else is needed
- The tutor will provide handouts and any other practical materials used in the session although you may want to bring a notepad and pen for taking notes Tutors will suggest sources of additional information where relevant
Pre-course work, reading and information sources
- No pre reading or pre course work is required
What can I do next?
- Progress to another WEA course
- Become involved as a volunteer for a WEA partner or another organisation
