This course is designed at giving you the basic skills to gain employment. You will learn the skills, to present yourself in a positive way to the interviewer. We will give you direct advice on how to prepare your C.V and personal statement. The course is open to people of all abilities, languages and professions. You will leave the course more confident and job ready to pass an interview. We will also learn you how to apply for jobs online

Course aim

This course will help you gain employment, through a series of sessions on interview skills and advice on how to present yourself for interview. You will become more confident and improve your skills to gain employment

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • You will need your own personal email address so that you’re able to login to the WEA’s digital learning platform: WEA Canvas. By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Learn how to apply for jobs online
  • Learn how to present your C.V for different jobs
  • Learn to become confident in using IT
  • Learn how to speak to people with confidence

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA’s digital learning platform, Canvas will be used to provide resources or to support lessons, enable assessment, provide learner feedback and for other activities for individuals away from the course.   • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will be able to keep a record of your progress and achievement using photos, audio, text or documents uploaded into the WEA’s digital learning platform, WEA Canvas.
  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion

What else do I need to know?
