This course will inform learners about good and bad stress and the causes and impact of stress, both physically and emotionally. Participants will be given a range of strategies to help manage stress on a daily basis and have the opportunity to try these strategies out.

Course aim

Participants will examine good and bad stress, the causes of stress and the impact on the body. They will also learn strategies to cope with stress.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Recognise good and bad stress.
  • Discuss the causes of stress.
  • Identify the physical and emotional impact of stress on the body.
  • Practice at least two coping strategies to manage stress.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed
