Make Your Own Music (Reaching Out)

Enjoy making music and being creative together and individually. Take part in creating songs and raps, group singing and playing percussion instruments. Practice taking turns and making choices to encourage team participation and communication. Learn some new songs and new styles as well as enjoying old favourites.

Course aim

Students to participate in group singing and playing musical/percussion instruments. Singing with guitar and backing tracks. To learn new songs and styles as well as old favourites

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • learn new songs
  • Be confident in making choices
  • Develop new skills in playing instruments and exploring different genres of music
  • Practice taking turns and working as part of a team
  • Using music to encourage communiation

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed
