Seminar: Architecture of the Olympics

Ref: C3744652

From the Birds Nest stadium in Beijing to Zaha Hadid's Aquatics Centre in London and on to Kengo Kuma's National Stadium for Tokyo 2020, leading architects have been called upon to produce something special to mark the prestige which the Games bring to the chosen city. Controversial after earlier Games, more recent venue design has swung toward consideration of "legacy" use and the avoidance of "white elephants" - we will look at what has been achieved.
