Course aim

To explore the changing representation of London over several decades by three critically acclaimed authors

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • Anyone interested in Literature & with a good command of English

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Compare & contrast the literary approaches of the three authors
  • Compare & contrast the techniques used by these authors to write critically acclaimed works of Literature
  • Demonstrate an ability to gritically analyse texts through group discussion

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions

What else do I need to know?

  • You will ned to purchase the three texts listed above

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • You will need to read the three texts listed in the order in which they appear & before the sessions in which they will be studied

What can I do next?

  • Progress to another WEA course
