Britain: From the Iron Age to Roman Times

Ref: C3744339

The period from the Iron Age to the Roman period in Britain saw huge upheavals and changes. These changes affected every aspect of life, and death, at the time. What was it like to live in this turbulent time? What was everyday life like - what food was on the menu, what were the houses like, what were the fashions of the day and everyday possessions and what were the main religious ideas? The course starts by examining Iron Age life - how Iron Age are you? We then will deal with the invasion of the Roman army and the new facts emerging on this period. We will take a glimpse at Boudicca, just one of many revolts. The course continues by looking at the changes into the Romano-British period using local case studies amongst others.
