This course is designed to make an assortment of items from things that can generally be found around the home. We will be: Using sewing techniques to make a decorative object out of fabric Use low cost materials such as card and paper, etc to make a variety of items.
Course aim
This course is aimed at people who wish to experience different crafts and learn new skills. We will be making craft items using a variety of simple techniques.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- No skills or experience needed
- This course is suitable for beginners and improvers
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Create an item using a variety of crafting techniques
- Create own individual item
- Develop crafting skills
- Work independently for some tasks
- Use own creativity to develop own ideas
How will I be taught?
- The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
What kind of feedback can I expect?
- You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
- You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
- You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions
What else do I need to know?
- Nothing else is needed
- A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you
