Learn how to relax and have fun making colourful prints, collages, simple lines, drawings and ornaments. Work to tutor designs or create your own.

Course aim

To have fun creating colourful and tactile craft projects using a variety of edible and not edible materials.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Create a range of shapes by cutting , tearing or forming from a malleable material
  • Learn how to mix at least 2 different colours to create a third colour
  • Draw, mark or outline a range of lines, curved , straight and wavy
  • Create a 2D or 3D craft piece, using at least 2 different textures or thicknesses of craft material
  • Use dried pasta, string and paint to decorate a paper plate, follow tutor design or create your own.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning

What else do I need to know?

  • A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required

What can I do next?

  • Progress to another WEA course
  • Progress to a course with another provider
  • Become involved as a volunteer for a WEA partner or another organisation

  • You are aged 19 years or older on 1st September 2019
