This is a mystery project, the course will start as students are presented with sections of a famous painting which they will reproduce in textiles; the identification of the masterpiece will be revealed once all the individual elements are completed and assembled. Students will be given a printed section of the original masterpiece & a fabric patch with some basic outlines added. Students will be helped to interpret their individual pieces & supported to produce a textile rendition using a range of textile processes and materials as well as any other non textile materials & processes that they suggest or may be prompted to try as appropriate. Students will be supported to work with a range of hand and machine sewing techniques and encouraged to experiment creating their own textiles and textile based artwork. Their finished pieces will be assembled to reveal the original masterpiece and will be displayed at HFT.
