Students will have the opportunity to use a variety of craft materials, tools and techniques to create different craft items. This also gives students an opportunity to enjoy and have fun in a safe learning environment with their peers whilst learning new or enhancing on existing skills

Course aim

Students will enjoy positive interaction whilst learning new or enhancing on existing skills.Tutor will support with literacy, numeracy, communication and hand/eye co-ordination through participating in creative activities.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • I have the opportunity to learn or enhance on my existing skills
  • I will gain knowledge of using different craft techniques
  • Opportunity to interact and support my peers
  • I will learn how to use a variety of craft tools and materials correctly
  • Successfully complete and make a craft item

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will be able to keep a record of your progress and achievement using photos, audio, text or documents uploaded into the WEA’s digital learning platform, WEA Canvas.
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed
  • All materials will be provided

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required
