Yoga for Mental and Physical Resilience

Dreading another cold, long winter? Worried about your health? Interested in finding out how to better deal with life’s ups and downs? Maybe you simply feel the need for some exercise but don’t know where to start? You will find a friendly yoga class with no pressure where we explore how we can make out bodies and minds work better for us. Feel stronger, and more positive,mentally and physically.

Course aim

The class is for people interested in seeking a healthier life, a more flexible body, and who want to remain mentally strong and able to cope with whatever life throws at them.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Perform a safe seated and standing forward bend.
  • Use a breathing technique to relax or calm down.
  • Be able to demonstrate one simple example of a more positive attitude ( anecdote)

How will I be taught?

  • You may be asked to work with another student briefly, from time to time. You will be asked to consider some personal ideas to promote your own awareness of how your mind is working but you will not have to share with the class.

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning

What else do I need to know?

  • A mat can be provided initially but you will be expected to provide your own after a few sessions.

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required
