Homeopathy Beginners

This is a course for people who want to know more about homeopathy: what is it,what are the ideas behind it, how do you use homeopathic remedies in the home, how are the remedies made, how can it help with long term health problems, when to see a homeopath. I will teaching people how to know when it is ok to use homeopathy at home & how to choose a remedy. We will develop a homeopathic first aid kit of about 20 different remedies for acute situations.

Course aim

To introduce people to homeopathy and how to use homeopathic remedies for acute situations in the home, whilst understanding the ideas behind the medicine.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • explain 3 of the laws of homeopathy
  • take an acute case
  • know 3 characteristics of 5 different remedies

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
  • You may be asked to undertake additional work in your own time to support your learning
  • role play. tutor led. paired work. Triad work. Individual work. Group discussion. Paper cases

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading is required but research on the subject on the internet or in the library may be helpful

What can I do next?

  • Progress to another WEA course
  • Become involved with the WEA in a range of voluntary work and other activities including campaigning as a WEA member
