We will use a variety of materials that are destined to be discarded. We will repurpose them to make into attractive festive wreaths for the home. Things that may be reused such as wool, fabrics, newspaper.

Course aim

You will make a Christmas wreath or wreaths using recycled and repurposed materials

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of what things can be recycled and repurposed.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of how colour can affect the finished article
  • Demonstrate when and how to use embellishments.
  • Use all equipment safely and with some degree of accuracy.
  • Discuss and share your ideas with the group, and listen to others

How will I be taught?

  • You will be asked to collect found materials that may be suitable

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions

What else do I need to know?

  • A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required

What can I do next?

  • Progress to another WEA course
  • Progress to a course with another provider
  • Become involved as a volunteer for a WEA partner or another organisation
