You will understand better the possible causes of challenging behaviour and learn strategies and techniques on how to manage it more effectively.

Course aim

This free short course will enable participants to manage and respond to challenging behaviour in adults effectively.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • You will need your own personal email address so that you’re able to login to the WEA’s digital learning platform: WEA Canvas.   • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Define what is acceptable and unacceptable behaviour in a range of situations.
  • Explain possible causes of challenging behaviour.
  • Implement strategies and techniques to prevent and deal with challenging behaviour.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor

  • Nothing else is needed
  • All materials will be provided
  • There will be an opportunity for you to access further course materials via our digital learning platform from home.
