Outdoor skills through environmental conservation

Ref: C3531114

This course provides an opportunity to gain confidence in the exceptional local outdoor environment and to improve your health. It is also a chance to network with like minded people and local environmental experts. Learning about the natural cycle of life, through hands-on practical tasks, students will learn new skills using hand tools: how to look after trees/plants, managing land for wildlife/people and positively impacting the wider environment. The course will also help develop skills that could contribute to their employability: team working, interacting with others, practically applying instructions, reliability and commitment to a task. Self-esteem will also grow as a result of the ongoing contribution to the community and wider world. The course also offers routine and value to individuals, working as a team to complete a daily task, which helps provide a platform to progress into voluntary and employment opportunities.
