A day spent drawing and painting, with an enthusiastic tutor who will guide and support you to produce a watercolour of an Autumn-themed painting.

Course aim

A relaxed day of drawing and painting Autumn hedgerow plants, seeds, fruit and fungi.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers
  • Anyone who is interested in the Natural World.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Produce a drawing on a large scale
  • Paint using watercolours
  • Discuss Autumn themed paintings and explore your own views of them
  • Immerse yourself in a creative activity for a day.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions

What else do I need to know?

  • The tutor will contact you before the course to discuss what materials you will need.

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required

What can I do next?

  • Progress to another WEA course
  • Become involved with the WEA in a range of voluntary work and other activities including campaigning as a WEA member
