Collage and Assemblage

During this course you will have the opportunity to experiment with a range of 2D collage materials and smaller 3D assemblage materials to make either representational or abstract compositions. Collage and assemblage materials will be combined with paint techniques to refine your images.

Course aim

In this fun short course you will explore the creative possibilities of collage and mixed media assemblage.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Select 2D collage and 3D assemblage materials to create your own images
  • Use fixing techniques that suit your selected materials
  • Refine your collages and assemblages using paint and mixed media techniques.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions

What else do I need to know?

  • A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you
  • Please bring an apron or old shirt as we will get messy!

Conditions
