Half day school - Lorna Doone, the book and local connections

Ref: C3530589

150 years since its publication, Blackmore's Lorna Doone provides us with a novel set in the 16th century at the time of the Monmouth Rebellion. However, this novel offers more than this in that we can also see how the text is shaped by the cultural influences of the century in which it was written.
