Explore simple Paper-craft techniques to design and make a range of eye-catching cards and paper decorations. Learn to bring your cards to life by incorporating pop-up / 3d elements. Students will learn through step-by-step demonstration and encouraged to develop creative skills through personal response.

Course aim

Enjoy learning creative skills at a relaxed and friendly pace, using a range of tools and techniques to make a series of decorative and fun cards and paper decorations. No previous experience is necessary.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Design and make greeting cards and paper decorations, using templates as starting points, learn to bring your ideas to life.
  • Explore paper craft skills, using everyday materials, to design and decorate unique cards and paper decorations.
  • Build confidence in creative work by exploring design / craft techniques and sharing ideas with others.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions

What else do I need to know?

  • You will need a personal email address to join the WEA’s digital learning platform, Canvas so that you can receive resources, record your progress and achievement and to work with others and share ideas.   • Please check on Canvas for full list of useful materials. Access to a computer printer would be helpful. Collect interesting / scrap papers, newspaper, tissue paper etc. Glue, ruler, bone folder/ knife, pencils, pens, paint?, wax crayons
