This one off workshop is designed to introduce you to the Folksy platform and how you can join and sell online. We look at how to list on Folksy and make the most of features available to us.

Course aim

Folksy is fast becoming one of the biggest platforms for selling handcrafted items online. This workshop is designed to look at the platform and show you how easy it can be to start selling as part of the larger Folksy community.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Understand what sells on Folksy
  • How to list on Folksy
  • What it costs to sell on Folksy
  • How to join forums to support your growth and do's and don'ts of forum etiquette
  • How to advertise and link your Social Media to your Folksy without over selling and spamming.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor

What else do I need to know?

  • It would be helpful if you had access to the internet (Mobile phone, tablet or computer at home or through a library etc.)
  • Basic writing materials to make notes would be helpful to you.

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required

  • You have been resident in the UK, EU or EEA for the last 3 years
  • You are aged 19 years or older on 1st September 2019
